USA's foreign trade with Singapore, exports to Singapore and imports from Singapore in Juli 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Singapore was USA's 18. most important foreign trade partner. Singapore's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2021 represented a share of 1.5 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 2.3% and 1.1% of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $5.8 billion was 11.1 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Singapore was $788 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Singapore decreased by 25.3 per cent compared to in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $2.5 billion in Juli 2021. Major product categories of imports from Singapore were Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), representing 14.0 percent of imports, Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 13.5 % and Sitc098 (edible products and preparations, n.e.s.) 12.2 % of the imports.

Exports to Singapore grew strongly over the previous year's Juli. The value of exports was $3.3 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 13.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) 8.2 % and Sitc728 (other machinery and equipment specialized for particular industries; parts thereof, n.e.s.) 6.8 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2021

During January-Juli trade in goods with Singapore has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $37.8 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 6.6 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was $17.2 billion. The export value was $20.6 billion. Compared to the corresponding period January - Juli in 2020, the value of imports during this period decreased by 12.1 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc098 (edible products and preparations, n.e.s.), worth $2.6 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $2.8 billion. The value of exports during this period increased by 29.6 %. The domestic trade balance between the two countries was in surplus, as it had remained in deficit in January-Juli of the previous year. The surplus was worth $3.4 billion.
