USA's foreign trade with United Kingdom, exports to United Kingdom and imports from United Kingdom in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November United Kingdom was USA's eight most important foreign trade partner. United Kingdom's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in November 2021 represented a share of 2.5 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 3.4 % and 1.9 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $10.2 billion was 4.4 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with United Kingdom was $372 million of surplus.

The value of imports from United Kingdom was 11.8 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $4.9 billion. Major product categories of imports from United Kingdom were Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind), representing 7.8 percent of imports, Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 7.5 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 6.2 % of the imports.

The value of exports to United Kingdom declined by 1.6 per cent compared to in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $5.3 billion in November 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 11.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary) 9.8 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 8.4 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2021

During January-November trade in goods with United Kingdom has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-November, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $107.2 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 8.0 percent. During January-November the value of imports was $51.1 billion. The export value was $56.2 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 12.5 % and the value of exports by 4.3 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth $6.1 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary), worth being $7.9 billion. The trade balance between USA and United Kingdomin between January and November was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $5.1 billion.
