Finland's foreign trade with Brazil, exports to Brazil and imports from Brazil in June 2026

Brazil's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in June 2026 represented a share of 0.8 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.6 % and 1.0 % of imports. In June Brazil was Finland's 22. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of €133 million was 75.0 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. In June the trade balance with Brazil was €16 million in deficit for Finland.

The value of imports from Brazil was 116.3 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €74 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc 671 (pig-iron, spiegeleisen, sponge iron, iron or steel granules and powders and ferro-alloys) representing a share of 50.1 per cent. Other major product categories of imports were Sitc 251 (pulp and waste paper), 16.0 percent of imports, Sitc 071 (coffee and coffee substitutes) 12.2 % and Sitc 289 (ores and concentrates of precious metals; waste, scrap and sweepings of precious metals (other than of gold)) 6.2 % of imports.

The value of exports to Brazil were 41.0 percent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting to €58 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 562 (fertilizers (other than those of group 272)), which represented a share of 16.0 per cent of total exports, Sitc 725 (paper mill and pulp mill machinery, paper-cutting machines and other machinery for the manufacture of paper articles; parts thereof) 14.5 % and Sitc 872 (instruments and appliances, n.e.s., for medical, surgical, dental or veterinary purposes) 13.5 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and Brazil in early 2026

During January-June, trade in goods with Brazil has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-June of the previous year. Growth was as high as 38.1 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €846 million. During January-June the value of imports was €481 million. The export value was €365 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 26.0 % and the value of exports by 58.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 289 (ores and concentrates of precious metals; waste, scrap and sweepings of precious metals (other than of gold)), worth €106 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 725 (paper mill and pulp mill machinery, paper-cutting machines and other machinery for the manufacture of paper articles; parts thereof), worth being €44 million. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-June remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €116 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €151 million.
