USA's foreign trade with Türkiye, exports to Türkiye and imports from Türkiye in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February 2025 Türkiye represented 0.7 per cent of USA's foreign trade in goods, 1.2 % of USA's exports and 0.5 % of imports. In February Türkiye was USA's 24. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 5 places. Amounting trade to worth of $3.3 billion was 18.6 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Türkiye was $559 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Türkiye was 11.4 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.4 billion. Major product categories of imports from Türkiye were Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), representing 12.0 percent of imports, Sitc661 (lime, cement, and fabricated construction materials (except glass and clay materials)) 5.7 % and Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783) 4.3 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Türkiye were 24.4 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.9 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied), which represented a share of 41.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 9.2 % and Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 6.9 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

During January-February, trade in goods with Türkiye has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-February, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $6.3 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 15.1 percent. During January-February the value of imports was $2.9 billion. The export value was $3.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 8.3 % and the value of exports by 21.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), worth $334 million. In export the largest value had Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied), worth being $1.3 billion. The trade balance between USA and Türkiyen between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $624 million.
