Finland's foreign trade with United States, exports to United States and imports from United States in June 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In June United States was Finland's largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 2 places. Most of the the value of trade consists of Finland's exports to United States. In June 2026 United States represented 19.6 per cent of Finland's foreign trade in goods, 29.8 % of Finland's exports and 6.6 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of €3.2 billion was 202.8 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. The trade balance with United States during the review month was very favorable for Finland. The surplus was €2.2 billion.

The value of imports from United States was 9.4 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €472 million. Major product categories of imports from United States were Sitc 333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), representing 18.7 per cent of imports, Sitc 343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied) 9.4 % and Sitc 598 (miscellaneous chemical products, n.e.s.) 6.1 % of the imports.

Exports to United States grew strongly over the previous year's June. The value of exports was €2.7 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 793 (ships, boats (including hovercraft) and floating structures), which represented a share of 70.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 8.2 % and Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 5.1 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and United States in early 2026

During January-June, trade in goods with United States has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-June of the previous year. Growth was as high as 78.1 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €8.9 billion. During January-June the value of imports was €3.0 billion. The export value was €5.9 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 49.6 % and the value of exports by 97.2 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth €740 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 793 (ships, boats (including hovercraft) and floating structures), worth being €1.9 billion. The trade balance between Finland and United States between January and June was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €2.9 billion.
