Finland's foreign trade with Thailand, exports to Thailand and imports from Thailand in Juli 2026


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In Juli Thailand was Finland's 13. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 22 places. In Juli 2026 Thailand represented 2.2 per cent of Finland's foreign trade in goods, 2.4 % of Finland's exports and 1.9 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of €298 million was 229.6 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Thailand was €20 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Thailand was 234.9 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €139 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.) representing a share of 66.8 per cent. The second major category of imports was Sitc 764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), corresponding to the share of 6.7 per cent of imports.

Exports to Thailand grew strongly over the previous year's Juli. The value of exports was €159 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 212 (furskins, raw (including heads, tails, paws and other pieces or cuttings, suitable for furriers' use), other than hides and skins of group 211), which represented a share of 78.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc 562 (fertilizers (other than those of group 272)) 10.3 % and Sitc 251 (pulp and waste paper) 2.7 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and Thailand in early 2026

During January-Juli, trade in goods with Thailand has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-Juli of the previous year. Growth was as high as 52.2 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €797 million. During January-Juli the value of imports was €440 million. The export value was €357 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 36.4 % and the value of exports by 77.6 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth €173 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 212 (furskins, raw (including heads, tails, paws and other pieces or cuttings, suitable for furriers' use), other than hides and skins of group 211), worth being €215 million. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €83 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €122 million.
