Finland's foreign trade with France, exports to France and imports from France in Juli 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

Trade with France represented in Juli of 2026 2.7 per cent share of Finland's foreign trade in goods, 2.9 % of Finland's exports and 2.5 % of imports. In Juli France was Finland's nineth largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of €368 million was 8.7 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with France was €5.7 million of surplus.

The value of imports from France was 8.7 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €181 million. Major product categories of imports from France were Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), representing 9.2 per cent of imports, Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 7.8 % and Sitc 553 (perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (excluding soaps)) 4.4 % of the imports.

The value of exports to France were 8.7 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €187 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), which represented a share of 9.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 7.2 % and Sitc 716 (rotating electric plant and parts thereof, n.e.s.) 4.9 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

During January-Juli trade in goods with France has grown slower than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €2.6 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 3.6 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was €1.2 billion. The export value was €1.4 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 4.0 % and the value of exports by 3.3 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth €100 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), worth being €127 million. The trade balance between Finland and France between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €146 million.
