Finland's foreign trade with Austria, exports to Austria and imports from Austria in June 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

Austria's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in June 2026 represented a share of 0.7 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.6 % and 0.8 % of imports. In June Austria was Finland's 26. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of €113 million was 13.9 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. In June the trade balance with Austria was €4.2 million in deficit for Finland.

The value of imports from Austria was 16.7 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €59 million. Major product categories of imports from Austria were Sitc 541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), representing 8.9 per cent of imports, Sitc 713 (internal combustion piston engines and parts thereof, n.e.s.) 5.4 % and Sitc 771 (electric power machinery (other than rotating electric plant of group 716) and parts thereof) 4.1 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Austria were 11.0 percent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting to €54 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), which represented a share of 8.1 per cent of total exports, Sitc 598 (miscellaneous chemical products, n.e.s.) 7.4 % and Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard) 7.3 % of the exports.

Development during January-June 2026

During January-June trade in goods with Austria has grown slower than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-June, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €611 million. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 2.8 percent. During January-June the value of imports was €331 million. The export value was €280 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - June in 2025, the value of imports during this period decreased by 0.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), worth €24 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), worth being €27 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 6.8 %. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-June remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €50 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €70 million.
