USA's foreign trade with Morocco, exports to Morocco and imports from Morocco in April 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Morocco was USA's 63. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $383 million was 37.0 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Morocco was $163 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Morocco decreased by 14.4 per cent compared to in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $110 million in April 2021. Major product categories of imports from Morocco were Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783), representing 14.7 percent of imports, Sitc562 (fertilizers (other than those of group 272)) 11.4 % and Sitc842 (women's or girls' coats, capes, jackets, suits, trousers, shorts, shirts, dresses and skirts, underwear, nightwear and similar articles of textile fabrics, not knitted or crocheted (other than those of subgroup 845.2)) 8.8 % of the imports.

Exports to Morocco grew strongly over the previous year's April. The value of exports was $273 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 25.3 per cent of total exports, Sitc342 (liquefied propane and butane) 20.6 % and Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)) 11.0 % of the exports.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April 2021, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was $1.4 billion, a decrease of 0.7 %. During January-April the value of imports was $385 million. The export value was $995 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - April in 2020, the value of imports during this period decreased by 17.8 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried), worth $42 million. In export the largest value had Sitc342 (liquefied propane and butane), worth being $194 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 7.9 %. The trade balance between USA and Moroccon between January and April was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $609 million.
