USA's foreign trade with Australia, exports to Australia and imports from Australia in Juli 2023


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Australia was USA's 21. most important foreign trade partner. Australia's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2023 represented a share of 1.1 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 1.9 % and 0.6 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $4.5 billion was 15.2 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Australia was $1.6 billion of surplus.

The value of imports from Australia was 12.0 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.4 billion. Major product categories of imports from Australia were Sitc011 (meat of bovine animals, fresh, chilled or frozen), representing 10.8 percent of imports, Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary) 9.1 % and Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 8.4 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Australia were 16.8 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.1 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary), which represented a share of 11.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 7.9 % and Sitc782 (motor vehicles for the transport of goods and special-purpose motor vehicles) 5.8 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2023

During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $28.9 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 9.1 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was $9.6 billion. The export value was $19.3 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 4.5 % and the value of exports by 11.5 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc011 (meat of bovine animals, fresh, chilled or frozen), worth $809 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $1.3 billion. The trade balance between USA and Australian between January and Juli was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $9.7 billion.
