USA's foreign trade with Australia, exports to Australia and imports from Australia in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

Australia's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in November 2021 represented a share of 0.8 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 1.4 % and 0.4 % of imports. In November Australia was USA's 23. most important foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of $3.2 billion was 15.4 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Australia was $1.1 billion of surplus.

The value of imports from Australia was 28.2 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.1 billion. Major product categories of imports from Australia were Sitc012 (other meat and edible meat offal, fresh, chilled or frozen (except meat and meat offal unfit or unsuitable for human consumption)), representing 11.3 percent of imports, Sitc011 (meat of bovine animals, fresh, chilled or frozen) 10.2 % and Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) 7.7 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Australia were 9.9 percent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $2.1 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc782 (motor vehicles for the transport of goods and special-purpose motor vehicles), which represented a share of 5.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 4.8 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 4.4 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2021

During January-November trade in goods with Australia has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-November, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $35.6 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 3.7 percent. During January-November the value of imports was $11.3 billion. The export value was $24.2 billion. Compared to the corresponding period January - November in 2020, the value of imports during this period decreased by 12.3 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc011 (meat of bovine animals, fresh, chilled or frozen), worth $1.1 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $1.3 billion. The value of exports during this period increased by 13.2 %. The trade balance between USA and Australian between January and November was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $12.9 billion.
