USA's foreign trade with Thailand, exports to Thailand and imports from Thailand in Juli 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Thailand was USA's 19. most important foreign trade partner. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. In Juli 2021 Thailand represented 1.3 per cent of USA's foreign trade in goods, 0.7 % of USA's exports and 1.6 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $4.9 billion was 25.0 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. In Juli the trade balance with Thailand was $2.8 billion in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Thailand was 26.5 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.9 billion. Major product categories of imports from Thailand were Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), representing 19.2 percent of imports, Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76) 9.7 % and Sitc625 (rubber tyres, interchangeable tyre treads, tyre flaps and inner tubes for wheels of all kinds) 6.0 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Thailand were 19.8 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.1 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 13.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 9.9 % and Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783) 5.5 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-Juli trade in goods with Thailand has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-Juli of the previous year. Growth was as high as 23.3452232317633 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $33.9 billion. During January-Juli the value of imports was $26.5 billion. The export value was $7.4 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 28.5% and the value of exports by 8.0%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth $4.2 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev), worth being $666 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $19.1 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $13.8 billion.
