USA's foreign trade with Poland, exports to Poland and imports from Poland in April 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Poland was USA's 39. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $1.2 billion was 19.6 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. In April the trade balance with Poland was $302 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Poland was 16.2 per cent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $753 million. Major product categories of imports from Poland were Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), representing 7.6 percent of imports, Sitc821 (furniture and parts thereof; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings) 5.9 % and Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783) 5.6 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Poland were 25.7 percent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $451 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 16.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied) 5.0 % and Sitc778 (electrical machinery and apparatus, n.e.s.) 4.2 % of the exports.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April trade in goods with Poland has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-April, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $4.6 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 3.7 percent. During January-April the value of imports was $2.9 billion. The export value was $1.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 2.0% and the value of exports by 6.6%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), worth $239 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $279 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-April remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $1.1 billion. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $1.2 billion.
