USA's foreign trade with France, exports to France and imports from France in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November France was USA's 16. most important foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 2 places. Trade with France represented in November of 2021, 1.6 per cent share of USA's foreign trade in goods, 1.6 % of USA's exports and 1.6 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $6.7 billion was 16.6 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. In November the trade balance with France was $1.6 billion in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from France was 10.3 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $4.2 billion. Major product categories of imports from France were Sitc112 (alcoholic beverages), representing 11.8 percent of imports, Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors) 7.3 % and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 7.1 % of the imports.

The value of exports to France were 28.7 percent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $2.5 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 23.0 per cent of total exports, Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) 12.1 % and Sitc667 (pearls and precious or semiprecious stones, unworked or worked) 3.5 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2021

During January-November trade in goods with France has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-November, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $73.1 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 14.0 percent. During January-November the value of imports was $46.2 billion. The export value was $26.9 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 18.5 % and the value of exports by 7.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth $7.2 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $6.2 billion. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-November remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $19.4 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $13.9 billion.
