The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Denmark was USA's 43. most important foreign trade partner. $1.2 billion worth of trade was 2.7 per cent lower than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Denmark was $490 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Denmark was 25.9 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $825 million. Major product categories of imports from Denmark were Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), representing 20.8 percent of imports, Sitc899 (miscellaneous manufactured articles, n.e.s.) 14.9 % and Sitc691 (structures and parts of structures, n.e.s., of iron, steel or aluminium) 7.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Denmark amounted to more than a third lower relative to the previous year's February, thus amounting to $335 million in February 2025. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), which represented a share of 15.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) 15.5 % and Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.) 8.3 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

During January-February trade in goods with Denmark has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-February, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $2.3 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 0.8 percent. During January-February the value of imports was $1.6 billion. The export value was $705 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of imports during this period increased by 28.1 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth $350 million. In export the largest value had Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth being $103 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 32.0 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-February remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $887 million. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2024. At that time, the deficit was $206 million.
