USA's foreign trade with Denmark, exports to Denmark and imports from Denmark in Juli 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Denmark was USA's 36. most important foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $1.5 billion was 36.0 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. In Juli the trade balance with Denmark was $706 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Denmark was 29.2 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.1 billion. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) representing a share of 50.9 per cent. The second major category of imports was Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), corresponding to the share of 5.6 per cent of imports.

Exports to Denmark grew strongly over the previous year's Juli. The value of exports was $387 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 30.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 6.1 % and Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 4.8 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2021

During January-Juli trade in goods with Denmark has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $9.0 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 3.7 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was $7.0 billion. The export value was $2.0 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 1.8% and the value of exports by 11.1%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth $3.7 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth being $335 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $5.0 billion. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $5.1 billion.
