USA's foreign trade with Brazil, exports to Brazil and imports from Brazil in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

Trade with Brazil represented in February of 2025, 1.6 per cent share of USA's foreign trade in goods, 2.4 % of USA's exports and 1.2 % of imports. In February Brazil was USA's 16. most important foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $7.4 billion was 7.0 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Brazil was $729 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Brazil was 6.0 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.3 billion. Major product categories of imports from Brazil were Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), representing 12.4 percent of imports, Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 8.5 % and Sitc071 (coffee and coffee substitutes) 8.1 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Brazil were 7.8 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $4.1 billion. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 18.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) 7.9 % and Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 6.1 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

During January-February trade in goods with Brazil has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-February, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $15.0 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 5.5 percent. During January-February the value of imports was $7.1 billion. The export value was $7.9 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 3.1 % and the value of exports by 7.8 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth $796 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $1.6 billion. The trade balance between USA and Brazilin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $814 million.
