USA's foreign trade with Venezuela, exports to Venezuela and imports from Venezuela in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Venezuela was USA's 80. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 3 places. Most of the the value of trade consists of USA's exports to Venezuela. Amounting trade to worth of $211 million was 67.6 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Venezuela was $125 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Venezuela was 181.9 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $43 million. Major product categories of imports from Venezuela were Sitc512 (alcohols, phenols, phenol-alcohols, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives), representing 35.8 percent of imports, Sitc037 (fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved, n.e.s.) 19.8 % and Sitc773 (equipment for distributing electricity, n.e.s.) 13.7 % of the imports.

Exports to Venezuela grew strongly over the previous year's November. The value of exports was $168 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), which represented a share of 14.7 per cent of total exports, Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)) 9.9 % and Sitc044 (maize (not including sweet corn), unmilled) 8.3 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-November, trade in goods with Venezuela has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-November of the previous year. Growth was as high as 54.9 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $1.8 billion. During January-November the value of imports was $265 million. The export value was $1.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 71.1 % and the value of exports by 52.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc037 (fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved, n.e.s.), worth $54 million. In export the largest value had Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), worth being $227 million. The trade balance between USA and Venezuelan between January and November was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $1.3 billion.
