USA's foreign trade with Venezuela, exports to Venezuela and imports from Venezuela in April 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Venezuela was USA's 81. largest foreign trade partner. Most of the the value of trade consists of USA's exports to Venezuela. Amounting trade to worth of $164 million was 120.2 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Venezuela was $117 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Venezuela was 163.1 per cent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $23 million. Major product categories of imports from Venezuela were Sitc037 (fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved, n.e.s.), representing 40.0 percent of imports, Sitc034 (fish, fresh (live or dead), chilled or frozen) 17.4 % and Sitc773 (equipment for distributing electricity, n.e.s.) 10.1 % of the imports.

Exports to Venezuela more than doubled from the previous year's April. The value of exports was $141 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)), which represented a share of 17.0 per cent of total exports, Sitc042 (rice) 13.3 % and Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76) 10.6 % of the exports.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April, trade in goods with Venezuela has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-April of the previous year. Growth was as high as 55.5362079614352 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $586 million. During January-April the value of imports was $65 million. The export value was $521 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 29.1% and the value of exports by 59.6%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc037 (fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserved, n.e.s.), worth $21 million. In export the largest value had Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)), worth being $66 million. The trade balance between USA and Venezuelan between January and April was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $456 million.
