USA's foreign trade with Honduras, exports to Honduras and imports from Honduras in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Honduras was USA's 50. most important foreign trade partner. Trade in goods between the countries of the month was considerably lower than in in February of the previous year. The value of the trade was $853 million and the drop was 20.2 %. During the month, the balance of trade with Honduras was $34 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Honduras decreased by 14.9 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $409 million in February 2025. Major product categories of imports from Honduras were Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), representing 31.0 percent of imports, Sitc773 (equipment for distributing electricity, n.e.s.) 18.9 % and Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried) 10.9 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Honduras declined by 24.6 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $444 million in February 2025.

Development during January-February 2025

The trade in goods between January and February of 2025 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was $1.8 billion, down 14.8 %. During January-February the value of imports was $746 million. The export value was $1.0 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of both imports and exports decreased significantly. The decline in imports was 14.5 % and in the value of exports 15.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), worth $213 million. In export the largest value had Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth being $318 million. The trade balance between USA and Hondurasin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $259 million.
