USA's foreign trade with Honduras, exports to Honduras and imports from Honduras in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Honduras was USA's 45. most important foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $1.1 billion was 52.7 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Honduras was $175 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Honduras was 54.8 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $441 million. Major product categories of imports from Honduras were Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), representing 44.0 percent of imports, Sitc773 (equipment for distributing electricity, n.e.s.) 14.2 % and Sitc843 (men's or boys' coats, capes, jackets, suits, blazers, trousers, shorts, shirts, underwear, nightwear and similar articles of textile fabrics, knitted or crocheted (other than those of subgroup 845.2)) 5.6 % of the imports.

Exports to Honduras grew strongly over the previous year's November. The value of exports was $616 million.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-November, trade in goods with Honduras has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-November of the previous year. Growth was as high as 47.9 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $10.7 billion. During January-November the value of imports was $4.8 billion. The export value was $5.9 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 36.6 % and the value of exports by 58.6 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), worth $2.0 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth being $1.2 billion. The trade balance between USA and Hondurasin between January and November was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $1.2 billion.
