USA's foreign trade with Honduras, exports to Honduras and imports from Honduras in April 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Honduras was USA's 44. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $919 million was 155.8 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Honduras was $67 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Honduras was 146.9 per cent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $426 million. Major product categories of imports from Honduras were Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), representing 36.2 percent of imports, Sitc773 (equipment for distributing electricity, n.e.s.) 13.1 % and Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried) 10.4 % of the imports.

Exports to Honduras more than doubled from the previous year's April. The value of exports was $493 million.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April, trade in goods with Honduras has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-April of the previous year. Growth was as high as 28.7168608408716 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $3.5 billion. During January-April the value of imports was $1.6 billion. The export value was $1.9 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 23.8% and the value of exports by 33.2%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), worth $616 million. In export the largest value had Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth being $321 million. The trade balance between USA and Hondurasin between January and April was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $320 million.
