Finland's foreign trade with Taiwan, exports to Taiwan and imports from Taiwan in Juli 2026

Taiwan's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 1.2 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.3 % and 2.0 % of imports. In Juli Taiwan was Finland's 22. largest foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 4 places. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to Finland. Amounting trade to worth of €163 million was 84.1 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. For Finland, the trade balance with Taiwan was in considerable deficit in Juli. The amount of the month's deficit was €119 million.

The value of imports from Taiwan was 116.4 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €141 million. Major product categories of imports from Taiwan were Sitc 776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev), representing 47.0 per cent of imports, Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.) 26.6 % and Sitc 764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76) 4.4 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Taiwan declined by 6.3 per cent compared to Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €22 million in Juli 2026. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), which represented a share of 13.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc 874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 11.0 % and Sitc 759 (parts and accessories (other than covers, carrying cases and the like) suitable for use solely or principally with machines falling withing groups 751 and 752) 8.6 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and Taiwan in early 2026

During January-Juli, trade in goods with Taiwan has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-Juli of the previous year. Growth was as high as 119.5 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €1.0 billion. During January-Juli the value of imports was €867 million. The export value was €172 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 140.7 % and the value of exports by 51.9 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth €310 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth being €26 million. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €696 million. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €247 million.
