Finland's foreign trade with Taiwan, exports to Taiwan and imports from Taiwan in June 2026

In June Taiwan was Finland's 18. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 2 places. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to Finland. Taiwan's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in June 2026 represented a share of 1.2 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.3 % and 2.5 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of €199 million was 270.7 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. For Finland, the trade balance with Taiwan was in considerable deficit in June. The amount of the month's deficit was €151 million.

The value of imports from Taiwan was 357.3 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €175 million. Major product categories of imports from Taiwan were Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), representing 47.4 per cent of imports, Sitc 776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 27.4 % and Sitc 759 (parts and accessories (other than covers, carrying cases and the like) suitable for use solely or principally with machines falling withing groups 751 and 752) 7.4 % of the imports.

Exports to Taiwan grew strongly over the previous year's June. The value of exports was €24 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), which represented a share of 22.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 19.4 % and Sitc 782 (motor vehicles for the transport of goods and special-purpose motor vehicles) 15.1 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and Taiwan in early 2026

During January-June, trade in goods with Taiwan has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-June of the previous year. Growth was as high as 127.0 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €874 million. During January-June the value of imports was €724 million. The export value was €150 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 145.2 % and the value of exports by 67.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth €272 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth being €25 million. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-June remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €574 million. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €205 million.
