Finland's foreign trade with Poland, exports to Poland and imports from Poland in June 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

Poland's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in June 2026 represented a share of 2.8 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 2.3 % and 3.5 % of imports. In June Poland was Finland's eight largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of €461 million was 3.0 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. In June the trade balance with Poland was €38 million in deficit for Finland.

The value of imports from Poland was 2.2 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €250 million. Major product categories of imports from Poland were Sitc 772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and), representing 4.5 per cent of imports, Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 3.7 % and Sitc 691 (structures and parts of structures, n.e.s., of iron, steel or aluminium) 3.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Poland were 3.8 percent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting to €211 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), which represented a share of 15.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc 674 (flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, clad, plated or coated) 5.2 % and Sitc 675 (flat-rolled products of alloy steel) 4.3 % of the exports.

Development during January-June 2026

During January-June trade in goods with Poland has grown slower than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-June, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €3.0 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 5.9 percent. During January-June the value of imports was €1.5 billion. The export value was €1.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 2.1 % and the value of exports by 10.1 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth €103 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth being €241 million. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-June remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €16 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €123 million.
