Finland's foreign trade with United Kingdom, exports to United Kingdom and imports from United Kingdom in Juli 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In Juli United Kingdom was Finland's 12. largest foreign trade partner. United Kingdom's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 2.4 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 2.7 % and 2.1 % of imports. The month's €326 million trade in goods was 5.9 per cent lower than in Juli of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with United Kingdom was €26 million of surplus.

The value of imports from United Kingdom was 40.8 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €150 million. Major product categories of imports from United Kingdom were Sitc 714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), representing 26.2 per cent of imports, Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 7.0 % and Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 3.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to United Kingdom declined by 26.7 per cent compared to Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €176 million in Juli 2026. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), which represented a share of 23.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood) 8.1 % and Sitc 874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 3.4 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

During January-Juli trade in goods with United Kingdom has grown slower than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €2.5 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 6.8 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was €907 million. The export value was €1.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 13.3 % and the value of exports by 3.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth €83 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard), worth being €251 million. The trade balance between Finland and United Kingdom between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €641 million.
