Finland's foreign trade with Denmark, exports to Denmark and imports from Denmark in Juli 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In Juli Denmark was Finland's 20. largest foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 4 places. In Juli 2026 Denmark represented 1.2 per cent of Finland's foreign trade in goods, 1.1 % of Finland's exports and 1.3 % of imports. Trade in goods between the countries of the month was considerably lower than in in Juli of the previous year. The value of the trade was €168 million and the drop was 23.1 %. In Juli the trade balance with Denmark was €19 million in deficit for Finland.

The value of imports from Denmark decreased strongly, by 30.9 per cent compared to Juli of the previous year. The import amounted to €93 million in Juli 2026. Major product categories of imports from Denmark were Sitc 024 (cheese and curd), representing 7.8 per cent of imports, Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 7.7 % and Sitc 691 (structures and parts of structures, n.e.s., of iron, steel or aluminium) 7.6 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Denmark declined by 10.3 per cent compared to Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €75 million in Juli 2026. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 675 (flat-rolled products of alloy steel), which represented a share of 6.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard) 5.6 % and Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 4.4 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

The trade in goods between January and Juli of 2026 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was €1.7 billion, down 8.3 %. During January-Juli the value of imports was €989 million. The export value was €722 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - Juli in 2025, the value of imports during this period decreased by 14.3 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth €320 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), worth being €33 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 1.2 %. From Finland's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was €267 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2025. At that time, the deficit was €440 million.
