Finland's foreign trade with Switzerland, exports to Switzerland and imports from Switzerland in Juli 2026

Switzerland's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 2.0 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 3.3 % and 0.9 % of imports. In Juli Switzerland was Finland's 14. largest foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 2 places. Most of the the value of trade consists of Finland's exports to Switzerland. Amounting trade to worth of €279 million was 9.3 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. The trade balance with Switzerland during the review month was very favorable for Finland. The surplus was €145 million.

The value of imports from Switzerland was 12.1 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €67 million. Major product categories of imports from Switzerland were Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), representing 11.4 per cent of imports, Sitc 682 (copper) 9.1 % and Sitc 728 (other machinery and equipment specialized for particular industries; parts thereof, n.e.s.) 7.2 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Switzerland were 8.4 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €212 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 971 (gold,non-monetary), which represented a share of 82.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc 682 (copper) 1.2 % and Sitc 771 (electric power machinery (other than rotating electric plant of group 716) and parts thereof) 1.0 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods between Finland and Switzerland in early 2026

During January-Juli, trade in goods with Switzerland has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-Juli of the previous year. Growth was as high as 46.8 per cent and the value of the trade increased to €2.2 billion. During January-Juli the value of imports was €437 million. The export value was €1.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 12.2 % and the value of exports by 59.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth €54 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 971 (gold,non-monetary), worth being €1.5 billion. The trade balance between Finland and Switzerland between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €1.3 billion.
