Finland's foreign trade with Belgium, exports to Belgium and imports from Belgium in Juli 2026

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

Belgium's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 2.5 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 3.3 % and 1.7 % of imports. In Juli Belgium was Finland's 11. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of €335 million was 4.6 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. The trade balance with Belgium during the review month was very favorable for Finland. The surplus was €94 million.

The value of imports from Belgium decreased by 18.3 per cent compared to Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €120 million in Juli 2026. Major product categories of imports from Belgium were Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), representing 18.7 per cent of imports, Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 8.7 % and Sitc 682 (copper) 6.6 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Belgium were 24.1 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €214 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), which represented a share of 40.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc 641 (paper and paperboard) 13.7 % and Sitc 522 (inorganic chemical elements, oxides and halogen salts) 5.5 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

During January-Juli 2026, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than during the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was €2.4 billion, a decrease of 4.3 %. During January-Juli the value of imports was €883 million. The export value was €1.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2025, the value of imports decreased by 8.4 % and the value of exports by 1.8 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), worth €69 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth being €297 million. The trade balance between Finland and Belgium between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €610 million.
