USA's foreign trade with Qatar, exports to Qatar and imports from Qatar in September 2022

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In September Qatar was USA's 59. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 16 places. Amounting trade to worth of $631 million was 73.5 per cent bigger than in September of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Qatar was $186 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Qatar was 17.3 per cent higher than in September of the previous year, thus amounting to $223 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) representing a share of 79.0 per cent. The second major category of imports was Sitc562 (fertilizers (other than those of group 272)), corresponding to the share of 13.9 per cent of imports.

Exports to Qatar more than doubled from the previous year's September. The value of exports was $408 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 33.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) 11.1 % and Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 7.8 % of the exports.
