USA's foreign trade with Kazakhstan, exports to Kazakhstan and imports from Kazakhstan in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Kazakhstan was USA's 47. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 3 places. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. Amounting trade to worth of $901 million was 263.1 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Kazakhstan was $788 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Kazakhstan was 406.3 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $844 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) representing a share of 74.1 per cent. The second major category of imports was Sitc681 (silver, platinum and other metals of the platinum group), corresponding to the share of 21.1 per cent of imports.

The value of exports to Kazakhstan declined by 30.7 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $56 million in February 2025. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc716 (rotating electric plant and parts thereof, n.e.s.), which represented a share of 13.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc713 (internal combustion piston engines and parts thereof, n.e.s.) 10.5 % and Sitc747 (taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances for pipes, boiler shells, tanks, vats or the like, including pressure-reducing valves and thermostatically controlled valves) 9.1 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2025

During January-February, trade in goods with Kazakhstan has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-February of the previous year. Growth was as high as 292.0 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $1.8 billion. During January-February the value of imports was $1.7 billion. The export value was $104 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of imports during this period increased by 418.7 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), worth $1.3 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc716 (rotating electric plant and parts thereof, n.e.s.), worth being $12 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 21.8 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-February remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $1.6 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2024. At that time, the deficit was $197 million.
