USA's foreign trade with Georgia, exports to Georgia and imports from Georgia in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Georgia was USA's 85. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 5 places. Most of the the value of trade consists of USA's exports to Georgia. Amounting trade to worth of $176 million was 42.9 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Georgia was $168 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Georgia was 9.7 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $4.3 million. Major product categories of imports from Georgia were Sitc679 (tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, and tube or pipe fittings, of iron or steel), representing 23.3 percent of imports, Sitc112 (alcoholic beverages) 17.5 % and Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783) 16.0 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Georgia were 44.0 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $172 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 79.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc784 (parts and accessories of the motor vehicles of groups 722, 781, 782 and 783) 4.8 % and Sitc012 (other meat and edible meat offal, fresh, chilled or frozen (except meat and meat offal unfit or unsuitable for human consumption)) 3.7 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2025

During January-February, trade in goods with Georgia has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-February of the previous year. Growth was as high as 47.0 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $350 million. During January-February the value of imports was $25 million. The export value was $324 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - February in 2024, the value of imports during this period decreased by 2.9 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc671 (pig-iron, spiegeleisen, sponge iron, iron or steel granules and powders and ferro-alloys), worth $15 million. In export the largest value had Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being $260 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 53.2 %. The trade balance between USA and Georgian between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $299 million.
