USA's foreign trade with Czech Republic, exports to Czech Republic and imports from Czech Republic in Juli 2023


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Czech Republic was USA's 48. most important foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 2 places. $922 million worth of trade was 8.7 per cent lower than in Juli of the previous year. In Juli the trade balance with Czech Republic was $331 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Czech Republic decreased by 7.4 per cent compared to in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $627 million in Juli 2023. Major product categories of imports from Czech Republic were Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), representing 6.4 percent of imports, Sitc772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and) 5.0 % and Sitc742 (pumps for liquids, whether or not fitted with a measuring device; liquid elevators; parts for such pumps and liquid elevators) 4.2 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Czech Republic declined by 11.3 per cent compared to in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $295 million in Juli 2023. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 13.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.) 8.7 % and Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76) 7.5 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2023

During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $6.8 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 7.0 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was $4.4 billion. The export value was $2.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 1.8 % and the value of exports by 17.6 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), worth $289 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $316 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $1.9 billion. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2022. At that time, the deficit was $2.2 billion.
