Exports to Argentina grew strongly over the previous year's April. The value of exports was $592 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), which represented a share of 8.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 7.5 % and Sitc515 (organo-inorganic compounds, heterocyclic compounds, nucleic acids and their salts, and sulphonamides) 5.6 % of the exports.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April trade in goods with Argentina has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-April, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $3.3 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 4.3 percent. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 0.8% and the value of exports by 6.6%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary), worth $202 million. In export the largest value had Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth being $150 million. The trade balance between USA and Argentinan between January and April was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $770 million.
