Finland's foreign trade with Romania, exports to Romania and imports from Romania in June 2026

In June Romania was Finland's 34. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 5 places. Amounting trade to worth of €69 million was 32.6 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Romania was €2.6 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Romania was 35.6 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €33 million. Major product categories of imports from Romania were Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), representing 13.7 per cent of imports, Sitc 772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and) 12.8 % and Sitc 874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 5.7 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Romania were 29.9 percent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting to €36 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 675 (flat-rolled products of alloy steel), which represented a share of 34.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc 722 (tractors (other than those of headings 744.14 and 744.15)) 10.1 % and Sitc 728 (other machinery and equipment specialized for particular industries; parts thereof, n.e.s.) 6.1 % of the exports.

Development during January-June 2026

During January-June trade in goods with Romania has grown slower than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-June, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €352 million. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 12.3 percent. During January-June the value of imports was €184 million. The export value was €167 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 25.8 % and the value of exports by 0.5 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and), worth €23 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 675 (flat-rolled products of alloy steel), worth being €35 million. The trade balance in goods between the two countries between January and June last year had been in surplus when it had a deficit in the corresponding period of the current year. The trade deficit was €17 million.
