Finland's foreign trade with Romania, exports to Romania and imports from Romania in Juli 2026

Romania's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 0.6 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.8 % and 0.5 % of imports. In Juli Romania was Finland's 32. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 4 places. Amounting trade to worth of €88 million was 32.1 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. The trade balance with Romania during the review month was very favorable for Finland. The surplus was €16 million.

The value of imports from Romania was 44.9 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €36 million. Major product categories of imports from Romania were Sitc 613 (furskins, tanned or dressed (including heads, tails, paws and other pieces or cuttings), unassembled, or assembled (without the addition of other materials), other than those of heading 848.31), representing 11.0 per cent of imports, Sitc 772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and) 10.9 % and Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 10.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Romania were 24.5 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to €52 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 713 (internal combustion piston engines and parts thereof, n.e.s.), which represented a share of 56.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc 675 (flat-rolled products of alloy steel) 12.3 % and Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 4.6 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

During January-Juli, trade in goods with Romania has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €439 million. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 15.6 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was €219 million. The export value was €219 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 27.8 % and the value of exports by 5.6 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 772 (electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (e.g., switches, relays, fuses, lightning arresters, voltage limiters, surge suppressors, plugs and sockets, lamp-holders and), worth €26 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 713 (internal combustion piston engines and parts thereof, n.e.s.), worth being €41 million. The trade balance between Finland and Romania between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €346.9 thousand.
