Finland's foreign trade with India, exports to India and imports from India in Juli 2026


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

India's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in Juli 2026 represented a share of 1.2 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 1.6 % and 0.8 % of imports. In Juli India was Finland's 21. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 4 places. Amounting trade to worth of €164 million was 53.5 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. The trade balance with India during the review month was very favorable for Finland. The surplus was €45 million.

The value of imports from India was 42.1 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting now to €59 million. Major product categories of imports from India were Sitc 764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), representing 14.4 per cent of imports, Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 11.2 % and Sitc 771 (electric power machinery (other than rotating electric plant of group 716) and parts thereof) 5.7 % of the imports.

Exports to India grew strongly over the previous year's Juli. The value of exports was €104 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 682 (copper), which represented a share of 22.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc 716 (rotating electric plant and parts thereof, n.e.s.) 13.9 % and Sitc 776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 13.1 % of the exports.

Development during January-Juli 2026

During January-Juli, trade in goods with India has grown faster than Finnish trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-Juli, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to €866 million. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 19.4 percent. During January-Juli the value of imports was €389 million. The export value was €477 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 21.2 % and the value of exports by 18.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth €40 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev), worth being €97 million. The trade balance between Finland and India between January and Juli was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €88 million.
