USA's foreign trade with Libya, exports to Libya and imports from Libya in Juli 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Libya was USA's 85. most important foreign trade partner. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. Amounting trade to worth of $136 million was 460.7 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. In Juli the trade balance with Libya was $89 million in deficit for United States of America.

Imports from Libya grew strongly over the previous year's Juli. The value of imports was $112 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) representing a share of 98.6 per cent.

The value of exports to Libya declined by 2.9 per cent compared to in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $23 million in Juli 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 37.7 per cent of total exports, Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried) 20.1 % and Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors) 5.0 % of the exports.

In export the largest value had Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being $61 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 20.1 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $878 million. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $14 million.
