USA's foreign trade with Algeria, exports to Algeria and imports from Algeria in September 2022

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In September Algeria was USA's 72. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of $299 million was 92.0 per cent bigger than in September of the previous year. In September the trade balance with Algeria was $15 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Algeria was 47.3 per cent higher than in September of the previous year, thus amounting to $157 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) representing a share of 57.1 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), 35.7 per cent of imports and Sitc676 (iron and steel bars, rods, angles, shapes and sections (including sheet piling)) 6.0 %.

Exports to Algeria more than doubled from the previous year's September. The value of exports was $142 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc222 (oil-seeds and oleaginous fruits of a kind used for the extraction of *soft* fixed vegetable oils (excluding flours and meals)), which represented a share of 60.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 10.0 % and Sitc716 (rotating electric plant and parts thereof, n.e.s.) 4.9 % of the exports.

In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $255 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-September remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $1.3 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2021. At that time, the deficit was $657 million.
