USA's foreign trade with Algeria, exports to Algeria and imports from Algeria in April 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Algeria was USA's 71. largest foreign trade partner. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. Amounting trade to worth of $250 million was 107.6 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. In April the trade balance with Algeria was $153 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Algeria was 265.6 per cent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $202 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) representing a share of 66.2 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc562 (fertilizers (other than those of group 272)), 22.2 per cent of imports and Sitc676 (iron and steel bars, rods, angles, shapes and sections (including sheet piling)) 10.3 %.

The value of exports to Algeria declined by 25.8 per cent compared to in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $48 million in April 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), which represented a share of 14.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc022 (milk and cream and milk products other than butter or cheese) 11.7 % and Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried) 10.3 % of the exports.
