USA's foreign trade with Bahrain, exports to Bahrain and imports from Bahrain in September 2022


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In September Bahrain was USA's 77. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 9 places. Amounting trade to worth of $263 million was 40.0 per cent bigger than in September of the previous year. In September the trade balance with Bahrain was $66 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Bahrain was 24.0 per cent higher than in September of the previous year, thus amounting to $164 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc684 (aluminium) representing a share of 50.1 per cent. Other major product categories of imports were Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), 14.5 percent of imports, Sitc682 (copper) 9.9 % and Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) 8.3 % of imports.

Exports to Bahrain grew strongly over the previous year's September. The value of exports was $99 million.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2022

During January-September, trade in goods with Bahrain has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-September of the previous year. Growth was as high as 60.2 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $2.2 billion. During January-September the value of imports was $1.5 billion. The export value was $652 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 113.4 % and the value of exports by 1.2 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc684 (aluminium), worth $999 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $157 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-September remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $870 million. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2021. At that time, the deficit was $69 million.
