USA's foreign trade with Kuwait, exports to Kuwait and imports from Kuwait in November 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Kuwait was USA's 70. most important foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 7 places. Amounting trade to worth of $316 million was 11.1 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Kuwait was $86 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Kuwait was 73.6 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $115 million. Major product categories of imports from Kuwait were Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), representing 49.8 percent of imports, Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 44.0 % and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 4.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Kuwait declined by 7.8 per cent compared to in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $201 million in November 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 21.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc699 (manufactures of base metal, n.e.s.) 15.7 % and Sitc891 (arms and ammunition) 11.7 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-November, trade in goods with Kuwait has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-November of the previous year. Growth was as high as 37.8 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $3.8 billion. During January-November the value of imports was $913 million. The export value was $2.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 30.2 % and the value of exports by 40.5 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth $507 million. In export the largest value had Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being $477 million. The trade balance between USA and Kuwaitin between January and November was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $1.9 billion.
