USA's foreign trade with Belarus, exports to Belarus and imports from Belarus in February 2025

In February Belarus was USA's 184. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 12 places. Trade in goods between the countries of the month was considerably lower than in in February of the previous year. The value of the trade was $2.4 million and the drop was 16.7 %. In February the trade balance with Belarus was $27.3 thousand in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Belarus decreased strongly, by 55.2 per cent compared to in February of the previous year. The import amounted to $1.2 million in February 2025. Major product categories of imports from Belarus were Sitc892 (printed matter), representing 21.4 percent of imports, Sitc654 (other textile fabrics, woven) 18.3 % and Sitc695 (tools for use in the hand or in machines) 16.0 % of the imports.

Exports to Belarus grew strongly over the previous year's February. The value of exports was $1.2 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc098 (edible products and preparations, n.e.s.), which represented a share of 79.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc553 (perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (excluding soaps)) 12.4 % and Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 3.4 % of the exports.

A sharp drop in trade in goods in early 2025

During January-February, trade in goods between the two countries declined sharply (-23.1 %) over the same period last year. The value of the trade was $3.6 million. During January-February the value of imports was $2.1 million. The export value was $1.5 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - February in 2024, the value of imports during this period decreased by 52.5 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc892 (printed matter), worth $304.5 thousand. In export the largest value had Sitc098 (edible products and preparations, n.e.s.), worth being $941.8 thousand. The value of exports during this period increased by 487.1 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-February remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $593.3 thousand. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2024. At that time, the deficit was $4.1 million.
