USA's foreign trade with Bolivia, exports to Bolivia and imports from Bolivia in April 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In April Bolivia was USA's 99. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 3 places. Amounting trade to worth of $69 million was 30.0 per cent bigger than in April of the previous year. In April the trade balance with Bolivia was $2.0 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Bolivia was 9.2 per cent higher than in April of the previous year, thus amounting to $35 million. Major product categories of imports from Bolivia were Sitc971 (gold,non-monetary), representing 33.8 percent of imports, Sitc687 (tin) 14.8 % and Sitc045 (cereals, unmilled (other than wheat, rice, barley and maize)) 10.6 % of the imports.

Exports to Bolivia grew strongly over the previous year's April. The value of exports was $33 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), which represented a share of 11.4 per cent of total exports, Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76) 8.8 % and Sitc098 (edible products and preparations, n.e.s.) 5.0 % of the exports.

Development during January-April 2021

During January-April trade in goods with Bolivia has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-April, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $305 million. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 10.5 percent. During January-April the value of imports was $153 million. The export value was $152 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 13.1% and the value of exports by 8.1%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc687 (tin), worth $48 million. In export the largest value had Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.), worth being $19 million. The trade balance in goods between the two countries between January and April last year had been in surplus when it had a deficit in the corresponding period of the current year. The trade deficit was $298.7 thousand.
