USA's foreign trade with Philippines, exports to Philippines and imports from Philippines in November 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Philippines was USA's 32. most important foreign trade partner. Philippines's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in November 2021 represented a share of 0.5 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 0.5 % and 0.5 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $2.1 billion was 33.3 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. In November the trade balance with Philippines was $467 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Philippines was 29.0 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.3 billion. Major product categories of imports from Philippines were Sitc759 (parts and accessories (other than covers, carrying cases and the like) suitable for use solely or principally with machines falling withing groups 751 and 752), representing 11.7 percent of imports, Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 10.9 % and Sitc752 (automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, n.e.s.) 7.5 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Philippines were 40.7 percent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $840 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), which represented a share of 15.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 14.5 % and Sitc041 (wheat (including spelt) and meslin, unmilled) 10.4 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-November trade in goods with Philippines has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-November of the previous year. Growth was as high as 22.0 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $21.0 billion. During January-November the value of imports was $12.7 billion. The export value was $8.3 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 25.1 % and the value of exports by 17.6 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc759 (parts and accessories (other than covers, carrying cases and the like) suitable for use solely or principally with machines falling withing groups 751 and 752), worth $1.3 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev), worth being $1.3 billion. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-November remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $4.4 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $3.1 billion.
