USA's foreign trade with Pakistan, exports to Pakistan and imports from Pakistan in Juli 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In Juli Pakistan was USA's 52. most important foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $744 million was 53.6 per cent bigger than in Juli of the previous year. In Juli the trade balance with Pakistan was $200 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Pakistan was 58.6 per cent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $472 million. Major product categories of imports from Pakistan were Sitc658 (made-up articles, wholly or chiefly of textile materials, n.e.s.), representing 29.1 percent of imports, Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.) 13.9 % and Sitc842 (women's or girls' coats, capes, jackets, suits, trousers, shorts, shirts, dresses and skirts, underwear, nightwear and similar articles of textile fabrics, not knitted or crocheted (other than those of subgroup 845.2)) 7.6 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Pakistan were 45.7 percent higher than in Juli of the previous year, thus amounting to $272 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc263 (cotton), which represented a share of 25.3 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 17.6 % and Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied) 17.4 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2021

During January-Juli, trade in goods with Pakistan has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-Juli of the previous year. Growth was as high as 34.1482755780313 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $4.7 billion. During January-Juli the value of imports was $2.9 billion. The export value was $1.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 46.9% and the value of exports by 17.8%. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc658 (made-up articles, wholly or chiefly of textile materials, n.e.s.), worth $913 million. In export the largest value had Sitc263 (cotton), worth being $556 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-Juli remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $1.1 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $431 million.
