USA's foreign trade with Egypt, exports to Egypt and imports from Egypt in November 2020

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Egypt was USA's 49. largest foreign trade partner. Decrease from the previous month was 8 places. $586 million worth of trade was 1.4 per cent lower than in November of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Egypt was $246 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Egypt decreased by 20.2 per cent compared to in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $170 million in November 2020. Major product categories of imports from Egypt were Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), representing 32.4 percent of imports, Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.) 9.8 % and Sitc841 (men's or boys' coats, capes, jackets, suits, blazers, trousers, shorts, shirts, underwear, nightwear and similar articles of textile fabrics, not knitted or crocheted (other than those of subgroup 845.2)) 8.1 % of the imports.

The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc222 (oil-seeds and oleaginous fruits of a kind used for the extraction of *soft* fixed vegetable oils (excluding flours and meals)), which represented a share of 44.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc891 (arms and ammunition) 5.2 % and Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)) 3.8 % of the exports.
