USA's foreign trade with Indonesia, exports to Indonesia and imports from Indonesia in November 2020


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

Trade with Indonesia represented in November of 2020, 0.7 per cent share of USA's foreign trade in goods, 0.6% of USA's exports and 0.8% of imports. In November Indonesia was USA's 23. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $2.4 billion was 13.3 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. In November the trade balance with Indonesia was $1.0 billion in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Indonesia was 8.6 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.7 billion. Major product categories of imports from Indonesia were Sitc821 (furniture and parts thereof; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings), representing 7.1 percent of imports, Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.) 6.7 % and Sitc851 (footwear) 5.0 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Indonesia were 26.8 percent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $702 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc342 (liquefied propane and butane), which represented a share of 22.6 per cent of total exports, Sitc222 (oil-seeds and oleaginous fruits of a kind used for the extraction of *soft* fixed vegetable oils (excluding flours and meals)) 11.1 % and Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)) 8.1 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2020

During January-November 2020, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was $25.2 billion, a decrease of 1.5 %. During January-November the value of imports was $18.5 billion. The export value was $6.7 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2019, the value of imports during this period increased by 0.1 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc845 (articles of apparel, of textile fabrics, whether or not knitted or crocheted, n.e.s.), worth $1.2 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc222 (oil-seeds and oleaginous fruits of a kind used for the extraction of *soft* fixed vegetable oils (excluding flours and meals)), worth being $763 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 5.7 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-November remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $11.8 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2019. At that time, the deficit was $11.3 billion.
