USA's foreign trade with Bahrain, exports to Bahrain and imports from Bahrain in February 2021


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In February Bahrain was USA's 80. largest foreign trade partner. Decrease from the previous month was 4 places. $135 million worth of trade was 8.3 per cent lower than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Bahrain was $22 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Bahrain decreased by 16.0 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $57 million in February 2021. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc684 (aluminium) representing a share of 61.4 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), 14.7 per cent of imports and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 6.9 %.

The value of exports to Bahrain declined by 1.8 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $79 million in February 2021.

Development during January-February 2021

The trade in goods between January and February of 2021 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was $270 million, down 9.2 %. During January-February the value of imports was $114 million. The export value was $156 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - February in 2020, the value of imports during this period decreased by 19.7 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc684 (aluminium), worth $70 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $44 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 0.4 %. The trade balance between USA and Bahrainin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $42 million.
