USA's foreign trade with Israel, exports to Israel and imports from Israel in February 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In February 2021 Israel represented 0.7 per cent of USA's foreign trade in goods, 0.7 % of USA's exports and 0.7 % of imports. In February Israel was USA's 27. largest foreign trade partner. $2.1 billion worth of trade was 21.6 per cent lower than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Israel was $403 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Israel decreased by 15.8 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.3 billion in February 2021. Major product categories of imports from Israel were Sitc667 (pearls and precious or semiprecious stones, unworked or worked), representing 22.2 percent of imports, Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 12.4 % and Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 5.0 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Israel declined by 28.9 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $857 million in February 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc667 (pearls and precious or semiprecious stones, unworked or worked), which represented a share of 21.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc728 (other machinery and equipment specialized for particular industries; parts thereof, n.e.s.) 7.0 % and Sitc776 (thermionic, cold cathode or photo-cathode valves and tubes (e.g., vacuum or vapour or gas-filled valves and tubes, mercury arc rectifying valves and tubes, cathode-ray tubes, television camera tubes); diodes, transistors and similar semiconductor dev) 6.1 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2021

The trade in goods between January and February of 2021 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was $4.3 billion, down 19.8 %. During January-February the value of imports was $2.6 billion. The export value was $1.7 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2020, the value of both imports and exports decreased significantly. The decline in imports was -18.4 % and in the value of exports -21.8 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc667 (pearls and precious or semiprecious stones, unworked or worked), worth $631 million. In export the largest value had Sitc667 (pearls and precious or semiprecious stones, unworked or worked), worth being $371 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-February remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $872 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $976 million.
