The value of imports from Lebanon was 54.1 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $18 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) representing a share of 50.0 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc058 (fruit, preserved, and fruit preparations (excluding fruit juices)), 6.4 per cent of imports and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 5.9 %.
The value of exports to Lebanon were 28.9 percent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $64 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), which represented a share of 19.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars) 18.8 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 16.0 % of the exports.
