The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In February 2021 Turkey represented 0.5 per cent of USA's foreign trade in goods, 0.6 % of USA's exports and 0.5 % of imports. In February Turkey was USA's 30. largest foreign trade partner. $1.7 billion worth of trade was 13.1 per cent lower than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Turkey was $254 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Turkey was 17.5 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $998 million. Major product categories of imports from Turkey were Sitc659 (floor coverings, etc.), representing 9.8 percent of imports, Sitc891 (arms and ammunition) 4.8 % and Sitc661 (lime, cement, and fabricated construction materials (except glass and clay materials)) 4.3 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Turkey amounted to more than a third lower relative to the previous year's February, thus amounting to $744 million in February 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc282 (ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steel), which represented a share of 14.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied) 14.4 % and Sitc342 (liquefied propane and butane) 5.3 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2021

The trade in goods between January and February of 2021 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was $3.7 billion, down 9.3 %. During January-February the value of imports was $2.1 billion. The export value was $1.5 billion.
