USA's foreign trade with Kazakhstan, exports to Kazakhstan and imports from Kazakhstan in November 2020

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Kazakhstan was USA's 73. largest foreign trade partner. Decrease from the previous month was 18 places. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. Amounting trade to worth of $188 million was 14.9 per cent bigger than in November of the previous year. In November the trade balance with Kazakhstan was $135 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Kazakhstan was 73.5 per cent higher than in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $161 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) representing a share of 56.1 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), 25.9 per cent of imports and Sitc681 (silver, platinum and other metals of the platinum group) 9.3 %.

The value of exports to Kazakhstan declined considerably,by 62.5 per cent, compared to in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $26 million in November 2020. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc012 (other meat and edible meat offal, fresh, chilled or frozen (except meat and meat offal unfit or unsuitable for human consumption)), which represented a share of 12.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 7.6 % and Sitc747 (taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances for pipes, boiler shells, tanks, vats or the like, including pressure-reducing valves and thermostatically controlled valves) 7.6 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2020

During January-November, trade in goods between the two countries declined sharply (-31.8 %) over the same period last year. The value of the trade was $1.3 billion. During January-November the value of imports was $795 million. The export value was $478 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2019, the value of both imports and exports decreased significantly. The decline in imports was -32.5 % and in the value of exports -30.5 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth $242 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $65 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-November remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $317 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2019. At that time, the deficit was $490 million.
