USA's foreign trade with Poland, exports to Poland and imports from Poland in February 2021

The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In February Poland was USA's 39. largest foreign trade partner. Amounting trade to worth of $1.1 billion was 0.3 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Poland was $218 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Poland decreased by 3.4 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $650 million in February 2021. Major product categories of imports from Poland were Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), representing 8.9 percent of imports, Sitc681 (silver, platinum and other metals of the platinum group) 7.1 % and Sitc899 (miscellaneous manufactured articles, n.e.s.) 5.6 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Poland were 6.4 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $432 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 12.3 per cent of total exports, Sitc343 (natural gas, whether or not liquefied) 10.0 % and Sitc743 (pumps (other than pumps for liquids), air or other gas compressors and fans; ventilating or recycling hoods incorporating a fan, whether or not fitted with filters; centrifuges; filtering or purifying apparatus; parts thereof) 7.4 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2021

During January-February 2021, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was $2.1 billion, a decrease of 4.4 %. During January-February the value of imports was $1.3 billion. The export value was $837 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2020, the value of imports decreased by -5.3% and the value of exports by -3.0 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc714 (engines and motors, non-electric (other than those of groups 712, 713 and 718); parts, n.e.s., of these engines and motors), worth $111 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $116 million. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-February remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $443 million. The trade deficit narrowed compared to the corresponding period in 2020. At that time, the deficit was $489 million.
