USA's foreign trade with Denmark, exports to Denmark and imports from Denmark in November 2020


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program. The program is a test version and its rule base at this stage is still quite limited.

In November Denmark was USA's 39. largest foreign trade partner. Rise from the previous month 4 places. Most of the value of trade between the countries consists of the import to USA. $1.1 billion worth of trade was 31.0 per cent lower than in November of the previous year. In November the trade balance with Denmark was $653 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Denmark decreased by 29.6 per cent compared to in November of the previous year, thus amounting to $856 million in November 2020. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) representing a share of 55.4 per cent.

The value of exports to Denmark amounted to more than a third lower relative to the previous year's November, thus amounting to $203 million in November 2020. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 14.5 per cent of total exports, Sitc081 (feeding stuff for animals (not including unmilled cereals)) 6.4 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 5.0 % of the exports.

Development during January-November 2020

During January-November, the value of goods between the two countries rose to $13.6 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 6.2 percent. During January-November the value of imports was $10.9 billion. The export value was $2.8 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2019, the value of imports during this period increased by 9.3 %. The largest value in imports was in Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)), worth $6.0 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth being $605 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 4.7 %. From USA's point of view, the trade balance between the countries in January-November remained in deficit. The trade deficit was $8.1 billion. The trade deficit continued to widen compared to the corresponding period in 2019. At that time, the deficit was $7.0 billion.
