The value of imports from Brazil was 7.7 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $1.7 billion. Major product categories of imports from Brazil were Sitc671 (pig-iron, spiegeleisen, sponge iron, iron or steel granules and powders and ferro-alloys), representing 8.1 percent of imports, Sitc071 (coffee and coffee substitutes) 6.6 % and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 6.4 % of the imports.
The value of exports to Brazil declined by 10.0 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.0 billion in February 2021. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), which represented a share of 14.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 12.8 % and Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) 5.3 % of the exports.
